Chapter 4 His First Love

Clutching her phone, Sabrina felt like someone had punched all the air out of her lungs.

So Tyrone had taken Galilea to meet his friends the second he got off the plane.

Everyone knew he was still crazy about her. They were all rooting for them to get back together.

Meanwhile, Sabrina was completely in the dark.

For three years, only the Blakely family knew they were even married.

He barely introduced her to anyone.

The few times they''d run into his friends, everyone just assumed she was his parents'' adopted daughter.

"Mrs. Blakely?"

The driver spotted Sabrina sitting in her car in the garage, looking confused about why she was just sitting there.

Sabrina quickly wiped her tears and ignored him, starting the car and driving off.

She refused to bring this drama to work.

Right now, the only thing keeping her sane was throwing herself into her job.

She shot the proposal over to Tyrone''s email.

His response came back fast and cold as usual: "Approved. Make sure it gets done right."

Sabrina paused for a second, typed back "Got it," and handed the project off to someone else.

After a brutal day at work, Tyrone texted her: "Tied up tonight. Don''t wait up."

Her chest tightened, pain shooting straight through her heart. Her fingers shook as she typed back "Okay."

Before, maybe because she was a senior manager at Blakely Group, he''d always tell her who he was meeting.

But lately, he''d been blowing her off with vague "I''m busy" excuses.

Turns out he was busy with Galilea.

Another text from Tyrone popped up: "Picked up something for you on my trip. Forgot to give it to you earlier. It''s in my suitcase at home. Grab it when you get there."

Sabrina typed back: "Sure."

Seeing her one-word answer, Tyrone felt weirdly annoyed. He leaned back in his chair and rubbed his temples.

"Sir, Ms. Clifford is here," Kyson Miller, Tyrone''s assistant, said as he knocked.

As Sabrina left the office, she caught some employees gossiping.

"Is that woman who went up to see Mr. Blakely his girlfriend? She''s gorgeous!"

"Too bad she''s wearing a mask."

"Think she looks like Galilea Clifford?"

"The actress? No way! Isn''t she filming overseas?"

"She and Mr. Blakely look perfect together!"

"Ms. Chavez!" Someone spotted her and called out.

The group stopped talking and greeted her: "Ms. Chavez!"

Looking down, Sabrina replied flatly, "You''re off the clock. Keep talking."

She picked up her pace, walking fast but trying to keep it together. Her eyes were red from holding back tears, her heart pounding with pain.

She had to get out of there before she saw something that would destroy her.

Had Galilea come to the office to see him?

They weren''t even divorced yet. Did he care that she was still in the building?

The whispers started up again behind her, but now they were talking about something else.

"Ms. Chavez is beautiful. But she''s so scary, just like Mr. Blakely. They really do look like brother and sister."

A new employee sounded shocked: "Ms. Chavez is Mr. Blakely''s sister?"

"Ha! Adopted sister. Her deadbeat dad basically forced Mr. Blakely''s father to take her in. How else do you think she got a job at Blakely Group?"

"Who told you that?"

"Someone in PR."

"I mean, Ms. Chavez seems nice enough."

Down in the parking garage, Sabrina buckled her seatbelt. When she looked up, she saw them.

Tyrone wore the white suit she''d picked out for him that morning. He looked incredible.

Next to him was a woman in a mask and baseball cap. She had her arm looped through his, chatting away. Tyrone leaned in slightly, listening intently, his face soft and relaxed.

The woman gave his arm a playful bump as they walked.

Tyrone nodded with this gentle smile, like he was saying "Of course."

So his first love really was back.

The red tie he was wearing made Sabrina''s heart shatter.

She''d chosen that tie to celebrate their baby.

Now he was wearing it on a date with his ex.
